Such an amazing album, these folks really know how to make such emotive, creative, and spiritual music. This is a must listen to anyone who likes atmospheric black metal and doom, as this crosses over into both. The ambient bits are such an excellent touch to build the atmosphere. Their description of playing this live is perfect, and something I yearn to witness one day! Much love❤️ Derek
Stunningly beautiful pagan neofolk to turn us back to nature so that we may find ourselves before it’s too late. Poetic lyrics combine with haunting acoustic instrumentation including cello, flutes, guitars, percussion, keyboards, and rich vocal textures to open a doorway between the quiet forest and our anxious minds. Fading, turning, and growing, again and again, forever coming back to this precious moment of humanity’s decay and Earth’s renewal. Dave Aftandilian
Thoughtful ambient from Seattle has elements of drone, experimental, and healing sounds in its musical explorations. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 5, 2019
I was first introduced to Aerial Ruin back in December of 2022 at Substation in Seattle. He was originally set to appear with Bell Witch to perform Stygian Bough as an opening act for Pallbearer. Due to unforseen circumstances, Bell Witch couldn't make it. Erik's set was hauntingly beautiful and helped set the tone for what was yet to come. This style of folk evokes despair yet some semblance of hope. It really does leave you, as many have said here, spellbound or enratpured. caffeinatedmetalhead
